_Unite to Light is a not for profit corporation dedicated to providing low cost lighting to those without electricity, and eliminating the health and environmental issues associated with existing light sources used by this population, such as kerosene.  In doing so, we will allow children the opportunity to study in the evening.

We have designed lights for this purpose, and are partnering with organizations on the ground in communities around the world to distribute lights for purchase with a portion of the money saved by people who used to buy kerosene.  We will then use this income to produce and distribute more lights on an ongoing basis.

Who We Work With

_DISTRIBUTORS IN THE FIELD
These are the main focus of our organization. The groups order anywhere from 10s-1000s of lights and sell the lights throughout the world. We really emphasize that the lights be sold and even suggest that the distributors sell them and a profit. The reasoning behind this is sustainability. We are really targeting an economically and environmentally sustainable model. If distributors sell the lights they can place new orders and get even more lights into the hands of people who need them. By this model any lights donated into our system will see a multiplier effect. Also the lights that are purchased last longer because of the pride of ownership of the recipients.

CHARITY DISTRIBUTION ORGANIZATIONS
Through our work we have found that sometimes when people need light the most, selling lights just doesn't make sense. For these emergency times we have partnered with some of the world experts Direct Relief International, The KAITEKI Institute, and other international organizations who can rapidly deploy lights to people in need.
